Farnborough Camera Club is represented in a number of external competitions each year. The photographs used are chosen by the Farnborough club committee. Further details and the various competition rules can be found in the Club Handbook. The competitions entered will vary year on year.
SCPF LeaguesThe Southern Counties Photographic Federation runs a set of leagues for all the clubs in the federation. There are separate leagues for prints and projected digital images (PDI). They are divided in to eight-club divisions with promotion between the tiers (7 divisions in PDI, 5 in prints). Each club enters ten photographs, with all clubs hosting an evening when all the entries are scored.
SCPF Exhibition The SCPF have a large exhibition early each year, with the club selecting a number of prints and PDIs to enter. Awards are given individually to the best entries.
SCPF Championship A pair of annual competitions, one for prints and one for PDIs. Each club enters 15 photos in to each, which are scored and the clubs ranked on total aggregate score.
PAGB Nature Cup (Projected) The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain runs a competition for nature photography. Each club can enter up to 21 photographs with the rankings based on each clubs best ten scores.
New WJ Fry Trophy A three way print competition between Oakley Camera Club (were North Hampshire Photographic Society), Andover Photographic Society and Farnborough, which is hosted annually by Oakley.
Albany Cup Hosted by Guildford PS, this competition is for 8 local clubs by invitation only. Each club submits a panel of 4 prints by 3 or 4 photographers, and the panel must have a theme. The judge is asked to score each print individually out of 10 and then mark the overall themed panel out of 40, with the winning club being the one with the highest aggregate score.
Inter-Club Digital Image Challenge A PDI competition between six clubs hosted by Farnbrough each December. Each club enters ten photos that are scored standalone, with the winning club being the one with the highest aggregate score. (Further details)
Bracknell Nines Competition Hosted by Bracknell Camera Club, nine local clubs including Farnborough compete. Each club enters 6 PDIs each. Each image is scored standalone, with the winning club being the one with the highest aggregate score.
Woking Silver Jubilee A competition held each April between 4 clubs: Woking, Windlesham and Camberley, Guildford and Farnborough, hosted by each on a rolling basis. Each club enters 10 prints. Each entry is scored standalone, with the winning club being the one with the highest aggregate score.
Francis Spooner Exhibition Trophy A competition for 8 clubs held as part of Yateley CC’s annual exhibition. Each club enters a panel of 8 prints by 8 different authors
