ARPS, Statement of Intent

Back Garden Nature Reserves

My panel is a product of my passion for invertebrate photography and ecology. My aim is to take photographs in my back garden to highlight the fact that gardens are becoming increasingly vital for invertebrate survival in Britain. Covering more than1 million hectares, gardens now far exceed the area of all our Nature Reserves. I have worked hard to provide a welcoming environment for invertebrates and have been rewarded by an increase in numbers and diversity. My objective is to photograph the wide variety of species in my garden environment as a permanent record of this and to share it with others.
