Farnborough Camera Club AGM

Thursday 22nd May was the occasion of the 84th AGM of the club.

The meeting started with an open forum, with a number of topics raised by the members, such as whether the club should continue later into the summer, whether further critique opportunities were possible and whether more use of informal groups such as on WhatsApp, where there is a thriving street photography community.

The main event of the evening was the AGM. The chairperson, treasurer and secretary reports were discussed. Then the election of officers of the club confirmed that all members of the committee were re-elected. The only significant change was that Neil Purcell stepped down as chair, following his three years of service in the role. He is replaced by Naomi Ward, but will stay on the committee as the member responsible for practical evenings.

A number of motions impacting the club constitution were voted on, and all were accepted. Then a number of proposals that did not impact the club constitution were discussed and voted on by those present, which help in the commitees steering of the club.

Finally there was an AOB section, where again there was discussion about a number of topics raised.

The minutes of the meeting have been distributed to club members.

Following the AGM there was an awards presentation, where trophies and certificates were awarded to the winners of the competitions and to those who scored 10 in the print or PDI competition.
