Kerry Turner – SCPF Role of Honour
On Thursday 5th March the club had another visit from the President of the Southern Counties Photographic Federation (SCPF), Stewart Lacey. Stewart was at the club to award the SCPF ‘Roll of Honour’ award to Kerry Turner.
The full transcript of Stewart’s speech is not available, but it was based on three submissions. The following was submitted by the current Chair of the club, Naomi Ward, and all three submissions were very similar in content.
This award is thoroughly deserved, and all members thoroughly appreciate all the hard work that Kerry puts into the club.
Kerry has been member of Farnborough Camera Club for over 10 years and is now a stalwart of the Club. When I joined the Club in 2018 he was already on our Club Committee, undertaking the roles of Secretary, Print Secretary and Print Displays Organiser which he continues to do to this day. He updates the Club Handbook every year, regularly maintains the Club’s Facebook page and also ran our President’s Challenge Competition for many years. In addition, Kerry is invariably the first person to arrive and the last person to leave on Club nights, setting up the projector, print boards and other equipment as necessary and making sure that all equipment is securely locked away afterwards. I am particularly grateful to him in this my first year as Club Chairman as he is usually the first person I seek out for advice on a whole range of Club matters. In short, in my view Kerry Turner is certainly most deserving of this prestigious award.
