Lockdown competitions – round 1
As we are all staying at home to stay safe and protect the NHS, Farnborough camera club are holding a series of friendly bi-weekly themed competition. This weeks competition was themed ‘My Backyard’ .
Members submitted panels of 4 images taken in and around there backyard. The club then got together via webex to vote for the winning panel.
This meeting was unique in that it was the first meeting we all got together via webex. The technology worked well, and we also had a you tube stream in case of technical difficulty.
It was great to see everyone and be able to participate in a meeting together. Thank you to the committee for getting the technology working.
We had 12 entries from members and many more members watching online. Members voted online via the website for their first, second and third placed panels and then the scores were added up.
The following panels were placed in the competition
First: My backyard visitor (Foxes) by Lesley Taylor
Second: Garden birds by Ian Newell
Third: Flowers by Kathryn Graham
We had 3 highly commended panels by:
Chris Bean
Kerry Turner
Linda Kent
Well done everyone.
Next week, Thursday 24th April, we will hold a similar session for the next themed image: Red.
Following this, Kathryn Graham will do a short demo of some photoshop tips that she used in creating her recent ‘Jurassic Nightmare’ image from the creative competition.
