Kerry Turner – 2024

Note from web editor – Steve Brunton: This arguably fits in the ‘Best of 2024’ but the format and description Kerry supplies lends itself to the story layout. I hope you agree.

These are my top ten images taken in 2024. A Camera Club judge may not like them but I do and they gave me great pleasure in obtaining them.  I have added my comments to each one. Enjoy

Image 1: Blakeney Quay. Couldn’t resist the sky even though my country, Scotland, were playing in the Euros.

A beautiful sunset at Blakeney Quay

Image 2: Went to RHS Wisley with the aim to take images that were predominantly yellow. But seeing this flower just after rain drew me away from my main aim. This image was focus stacked.

Image 3: Took me days to get this image of an inflight dragonfly. Taken over a dirty local pond.

Image 4: Dog walker at Hayling Island. The project for day was slow shutter speed and this was taken at 0.4 sec. Hand held

Image 5: The old bridge at East Beech Lossiemouth Scotland. Took many images of the bridge, mainly long exposure, but this was spontaneous. I had my long lens on returning from bird photography and it was misty. The in flight bird pleased me.

Image 6: Osprey going fishing at Aviemore. A cold April morning and this was the only Osprey we saw in 4 hours.

Image 7: Got it. Same Osprey at Aviemore.

Image 8: Bow Fiddle Rock at Portknockie NE Scotland. Taken at midday but loved the sky. Perhaps I should of taken one with a long exposure.

Image 9: All nine Red Arrows together but going in different directions.

Image 10: WW2 Tank traps taken from inside a pillbox. Nr Lossiemouth East Beach and north of Milltown Airfield. I was born 5 miles away and later came back to go school 5 miles away. I also did my first RAF tour 15 miles away but I never knew about this.
