Guest Speaker – David Rutter FRPS

On 19th February our talk was from David Rutter. This was a fast-paced talk with numerous images, which David said included many that were not publicly available outside of his club presentations.

Split into four parts with a mid-point break, the talk covered still-life, artistic, politics and street. After introducing himself and his involvement with the Royal Photographic Society David raised some interesting points about influence. From the starting position that he was self-taught and therefore not influenced by anyone, he then went on throughout the evening to give examples where his own work might have been influenced by some famous artists and photographers – albeit subconsciously.

This was an interesting talk from a photographer who is already known by some members for his workshops in London.
